How To Unlock Your Benefits with Truemed

STEP 1
Add products to cart
Choose the items you want and add them to your cart. When you're ready, continue to checkout and enter your information to place your order.

STEP 2
If you're signed in to ShopPay, check out as a guest
If you have a ShopPay account and you're signed in, make sure you pick the "Check Out as a Guest" option. TrueMed payments are processed separately from ShopPay, so completing this step is key to using your HSA/FSA funds.

STEP 3
Select TrueMed as your payment method
When you reach checkout, you'll see the option to pay with "TrueMed - Pay with HSA/FSA." Select this option to continue, then click "Pay now."

STEP 4
Complete a quick health survey
TrueMed will walk you through a short health survey. Answer a few questions about your HSA/FSA and your health to confirm you're eligible for reimbursement.

STEP 5
Complete your checkout with TrueMed
We recommend using a credit or debit card to pay, then reimbursing yourself from your HSA/FSA funds once checkout is done—this gives you the best chance of success.

STEP 6
Complete your order
After the evaluation form is done, you'll return to our website. If your order is HSA/FSA eligible, you'll get a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) via email within 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
At checkout, choose the TrueMed / "Pay with HSA/FSA" option and complete a short health intake survey. TrueMed's licensed clinicians review it and, for qualifying customers, issue a Letter of Medical Necessity that makes your device an eligible medical expense. You then pay with your HSA/FSA card, or with a regular card and submit for reimbursement.
No. You don't need to arrange anything in advance. TrueMed's network of licensed clinicians reviews your health intake survey at checkout and, for qualifying customers, issues the Letter of Medical Necessity on your behalf.
An LMN documents that your purchase treats or helps prevent a health condition, which makes it a qualified medical expense under IRS rules — the same category as a doctor's visit or a pharmacy purchase. TrueMed's clinicians substantiate that need from your intake survey, so the letter satisfies IRS requirements for reimbursement.
HSA and FSA accounts let you spend pre-tax dollars on expenses that treat, mitigate, or prevent a medical condition. Because the money isn't taxed, qualifying effectively discounts your purchase by your tax rate — often 20–30%+ depending on your bracket.
Yes. If you'd rather use your normal card, TrueMed sends instructions for submitting your receipt and LMN to your HSA/FSA administrator to get reimbursed. This reimbursement route is generally recommended.
Usually 24–48 hours after you complete the health intake survey. If it hasn't arrived, check your spam folder, then contact TrueMed at support@truemed.com
If the clinicians determine your purchase doesn't qualify, the transaction is reversed and no money leaves your account. You can still complete the order with a standard payment method.
Yes — FSA funds usually expire at the end of your plan year (often December 31, but check your plan). Some plans add a short grace period or let you carry over a limited amount, but the rest is forfeited. If you have unspent FSA dollars, putting them toward a Project E Beauty device before your deadline is a smart way to make them count.
